ABOUT THE PUBLICATION

We take the markets seriously. Ourselves? Not so much.

Risk Life News is a financial news and entertainment company built for people who actually live on the internet.

We cover the financial markets and the stories that move them—stocks, options, day trading, investing, crypto, AI, business and political news—alongside the corners of finance traditional media tends to ignore.

That means futures, options, FX, crypto and perpetual prop firms. Prediction markets, gambling and sports betting. Trading technology. And, of course, the increasingly ridiculous world of trading influencers.

We take the markets seriously. Ourselves? Not so much.

RLN believes financial media can be informative without being boring. We mix market coverage, education and industry reporting with humor, internet culture and an appropriate amount of degeneracy.

Because markets are fascinating. They’re chaotic. They create opportunity, destroy egos and generate some of the greatest content on Earth.

We love this shit.

Risk Life News exists to share that obsession with the world—and make financial markets as entertaining to follow as they are to trade.

On politics: We cover political news when it matters to markets, companies, industries, prediction markets or investors. The question is what it means for markets and traders, not which side readers should support.

03 / FOUNDER

Meet the guy who started this thing.

Tyler Davis, founder of Risk Life News
Tyler DavisFounder, Risk Life News

Tyler Davis didn’t come to financial media from Wall Street.

He’s a 35-year-old husband and father from Western Pennsylvania who dropped out of college after a year and a half and went to work in his family’s business.

Then, about six years ago, he discovered day trading.

Things escalated quickly.

What started as curiosity turned into an obsession with learning the markets. That journey took him from stocks and options into futures and prop trading, eventually leading to work inside the prop-firm industry and then into trading content and financial media.

Today, Tyler trades, creates content and serves as the founder and on-camera personality behind Risk Life News.

The slightly less conventional parts of his résumé probably explain the rest of RLN.

He’s been a lifelong hockey player and skateboarder, and spent several years in his twenties performing stand-up comedy at open mics multiple nights a week.

Apparently the eventual result of combining trading, internet culture and an unsuccessful attempt at becoming a comedian is a financial media company.

Risk Life News was probably inevitable.

Tyler helped start the conversation. Risk Life News is the publication—a place for future writers, hosts, contributors, shows and perspectives beyond any one personality.

Risk Life News covers companies we work with, companies we don’t work with, companies we love and occasionally companies we think deserve criticism.

RLN accepts advertising and sponsorships and maintains affiliate relationships with some companies featured on this website. When a commercial relationship could reasonably matter to the reader, our goal is to disclose it clearly.

An affiliate relationship does not automatically earn a positive review, and a company does not need to pay us to receive positive coverage.

We believe financial media has a particular responsibility to newer traders. Trading is already difficult enough without navigating exaggerated claims, hidden incentives, questionable operators and people selling Lamborghinis before risk management.

Our job is to entertain you, inform you, educate where we can, disclose our conflicts and give you our actual opinion.

Nothing published by Risk Life News should be considered personalized financial advice. Trading and investing involve risk, and you are responsible for your own financial decisions.
